MeshVault is a young model manager (first released January 2026) by the solo developer Xalies: Windows and Linux desktop apps with optional self-hosted LAN server builds, an Android companion, a browser extension that captures downloads and their metadata from ten model sites including Printables, Thingiverse and MakerWorld, and, since our last check, a free native macOS beta for Apple-silicon Macs.

The differences that matter.
Platforms: a Mac beta, not a Mac release
This is the fact that changed most since our last check. MeshVault now has a native macOS build, free while it is in beta, and it is Apple-silicon only: Intel Macs are not supported (as of August 2026). Meshory ships a signed, notarized universal macOS build that covers both Apple Silicon and Intel, alongside Windows and Linux. Mac is no longer a reason to rule MeshVault out, but a free beta and a stapled release are different commitments to your library.
A vault plus watch folders, versus every drive you own
MeshVault is built around a library folder that holds its own SQLite database, and it now adds watch folders that index external locations in place without moving files in. Meshory has no central folder at all: it points at every folder, drive and NAS mount you already have and indexes them as peers. Network storage is where the two still part company, since MeshVault documents no NAS support and answers shared access with self-hosted LAN server builds instead.
Duplicates: import guard versus library sweep
MeshVault's hash checks catch duplicates as you import them: a guard at the door. Meshory fingerprints the whole library (by content and by geometry, archive interiors and NAS included) and groups every set of identical copies across all sources into a Duplicates view, with moved, rotated or rescaled near-copies in a separate review queue. That's where years of accumulated downloads actually get cleaned up.
Breadth versus depth
MeshVault wins on format count, and by more than it used to: 57 indexed extensions, with PLY, GLB/GLTF, FreeCAD thumbnails and G-code layer inspection Meshory doesn't offer, plus a measuring tool in metric or imperial. STEP is common ground, previewed by both.
