Removing a source safely

Removing a source clears it from Meshory's index only. Your files on disk are never touched.
Removing a source tells Meshory to stop tracking that location. It clears those models from the index and removes their cached thumbnails, but it never deletes, moves, or alters the actual files on disk.
Removing a source is always safe for your files. The originals stay exactly where they are; add the source back later and Meshory re-indexes it.
One thing to know: tags, notes, and collection membership for those models are cleared along with the index, and so are any folder exclusions you set up inside that source. Re-adding the source starts fresh.
This is also the clean way to handle a drive you no longer keep connected: remove the source to tidy the library, and re-add it whenever the drive comes back.
