What data is sent (and what isn't)

Tagging sends text metadata, and thumbnail images only if you switch that on. Your model files are never uploaded.

This is the important one, so it's explicit. AI tagging only does anything when you've added your own key and started it. When it runs, here's exactly what moves:

• Sent: the file's name, its folder path within your source, and its existing tags, plus the prompt, all through your own OpenRouter key to the model you picked.
• Sent only if you've enabled it: with “Include thumbnails in AI prompts” switched on (it's off by default), a small copy of the rendered thumbnail image goes along too.
• Not sent: your actual model files. The STL / 3MF / OBJ / FBX / STEP never leaves your machine; no code path uploads them.

Everything else lives on your machine: your library, index, thumbnails, tags, and notes. Beyond AI tagging, the app touches the network for three things: license activation (a quick check when you first enter your key, refreshed quietly every so often), checking for app updates, and anonymous usage and crash reporting. That reporting is strictly allowlisted: event names, coarse buckets like a model-count range, and version/OS info only. File names, paths, and search terms are never valid fields, and you can switch it off in Settings → Privacy. Semantic search, when you use it, also goes through your own OpenRouter key: it sends each model's file name, folder path, tags, AI description and the names of files inside archives to build its index, and your search terms each time you search. Tagging itself goes through your provider account, never a Meshory server, and so does semantic search.
