Collections vs. tags

Build your own organization on top of the folders you already have, without reorganizing anything on disk.

Meshory lets you organize your library without touching the folder structure on disk. Two tools do this, and they're complementary.

• Tags come from both directions: you add your own from the right-click menu, the details panel, or a bulk selection, and Meshory generates more (AI tagging, filename rules, and color analysis) for you to curate by accepting, rejecting, or removing. See Adding your own tags.
• Collections are groups you build yourself: a project, a print queue, a themed set. A collection can hold individual models or whole folders.

Both live in Meshory's index, layered over your real folders. The files never move, so you get the organization you want while your on-disk layout stays exactly as it is.

The Collections page

The Collections page in the sidebar lists every collection with its first four thumbnails, how many folders, models and assets it holds, and its size on disk. Search it by name, narrow it to collections that have a folder attached or to empty ones, and sort by name, models or size. Switch between a list and a grid of cards; Meshory remembers which you prefer, separately from the library. Click a collection to open it, rename or delete it from its row, and use New Collection to start another.

Adding models

• Right-click a model or a folder card in the library, or a folder in the left-hand tree, and choose Add to collection.
• Select several first (Ctrl or Cmd click, Shift click, or drag a box) and use Add to collection in the bar at the bottom.
• On the Collections page, Add models opens your library as a picker. Single-click a model or a folder to select it, double-click to open a model or go into a folder, and right-click anything to add it straight away. Your picks are kept as you move between folders and back to Home, and a folder that holds picks shows how many are inside it.
• The bar counts what you have picked and says how many are already in the collection. Add them from the bar; Done returns to the collection and leaves anything you picked but did not add.

Removing models

• Right-click a model or a folder in a collection and choose Remove from the collection, or select several and use the bar. The files stay exactly where they are.
• If something is in the collection because a whole folder was added, it cannot leave on its own. Meshory says so and offers to remove that folder from the collection instead, for one model or for a whole selection.
• A model that was added on its own and also sits inside an added folder stays visible after you remove it, and the notice tells you which folder still brings it in.
