Multi-plate 3MF projects

Updated Oct 25, 2026 · 2 min read

Bambu multi-plate projects open in the viewer plate by plate, and Details shows the print time and filament the slicer saved for each plate.

A 3MF is often a whole project rather than a single mesh. Meshory parses multi-plate Bambu 3MF files plate by plate: open one in the viewer and every part sits in place on its plate, with a plate switcher to step through the project one plate at a time. Projects with more than one plate also get a Multi-plate tag automatically, so you can filter for them.

In the grid, a 3MF project shows the preview image the slicer embedded when the project was saved (usually the first plate), so multi-color projects appear with their real colors. If a 3MF has no embedded preview, Meshory renders the mesh itself in a clean single-color style instead.

A sliced 3MF also carries the slicer's estimates, and Details shows them in a Print card: the Print time and Filament totals, per plate on a multi-plate project, with one row per filament in grams. The footer names the slicer that saved them, as in Estimates saved by Bambu Studio when the project was last sliced.

A 3MF nobody has sliced can get an estimate from OrcaSlicer instead. The first time, its Print card offers to use your own OrcaSlicer or download a copy for Meshory; after that, the estimate appears when you open the project, on the Print card and on each plate in the viewer, marked ≈ where it is rough. You can also click ✎ to Add your own print time and weight, such as 4h 30m and 120 g. That's one pair for the whole file, and slicing the project later replaces it with the slicer's numbers. The Print queue adds these estimates up into the printing time and filament a list still needs, and each plate in the viewer has Add to print list for printing one plate on its own.

If a 3MF tile looks empty in the grid, see Why a 3MF shows blank. It's usually still rendering or is a project file with no preview mesh.
