Notes & filament assignment
Updated Oct 11, 2026 · 1 min read
Keep notes on a model, record filament assignments, and see who designed a 3MF, all in the details panel.
The viewer's details panel is where you keep the context that normally lives in your head. Add notes to a model (print settings that worked, supports needed, who it's for) and they stay attached to that file.
You can also build a small filament library (brand, material, color) and assign one or more filaments to a model, each with an optional quantity. Come back to a project weeks later and you'll know exactly what it was meant to be printed with.
Notes and filament assignments are tied to the model's entry in your library, so they survive renaming or reorganizing files on disk.
Who made a 3MF
For a 3MF, the details panel has a Creator block with the designer name saved in the file and the MakerWorld account that saved it. Add name gives an account a name you'll recognize, Rename changes it later, and Open on MakerWorld opens the account's page. Click either entry to filter your library to that creator, or type creator:Name in search; Filtering & search tips has the syntax.
When you open a 3MF from a MakerWorld account you haven't named, Meshory can suggest the account's public name. What data is sent covers that lookup and the switch that turns it off.
